Square Lake |

Square Lake is located in Washington County near Stillwater, MN. It is probably the most popular lake in Minnesota for SCUBA divers due to its proximity to the Twin Cities, its easy access, and its reasonably clear water.
Square Lake offers several interesting underwater structures, including the tail section from a Cessna plane, a sunken runabout, a sunken canoe, and several underwater platforms. Most of these features are connected via lines that guide the diver from point to point.
Directions to Square Lake: Go east on Hwy 36 From the Twin Cities, take I694 east to Hwy 36 East. Go east on Hw y 36 for about 5 miles until the intersection with Hwy 15 (also marked as Manning Rd) — take a left on Hwy 15 and go north until you come to the intersection with Hwy 7. Go right on Hwy 7 and follow it for approximately 3 miles. Golden Acres Campground will be on the left side of the road (look for the chain link fence).
