Crosby Iron Pits |

The Crosby Iron Pits are former iron ore mining pits that have flooded, leaving very interesting dive sites for a wide range of diving.
Water clarity is better than most inland lakes and depths can exceed 100 feet in some of the pits. There are more than 10 separate pits providing a variety of diving locations.
Directions to the Crosby Iron Pits
From the Twin Cities, take Hwy 169 north to Garrison, MN (on the west shore of Mille Lacs). In Garrison, take Hwy 6 north to Hwy 210, then go left. This will take you to Crosby. One block past the Holiday station, take a right , followed by another right onto County Road 30. Follow Cty 30 north. After the S curve, you will see the signs for the state campground. |
